Staten Island Academy is one of Staten Island's finest schools and the students and teachers show it. I would like to thank the principal and head of the history department for inviting us to do this school demonstration of our armor for the students. We gave a small lesson on ancient Greek culture, Greek Citiy States, and the rise of the Greek Hoplite as the Citizen Soldier.

We demonstrated our defensive armor and offensive weapons. I must thank the teacher and student who helped do this demonstration. They got a first hand feel of what it is like to wear hot and heavy Greek armor. Thanks guys!

The students were facinated by the demonstration and had lots of questions about the various components of the armor. The real fun came at the end of the lesson when it was "Try on the Helmet Time"!  Students were lining up to try on my Corinthian helmet .They got to see what a Greek Hoplite would have experienced in the world beneath his helmet. It was an exciting experience for both the teachers and students. My thanks to all who made this day possible.
